Installation on a Windows PC:

  1. Download the zip-file from SourceForge (see menu on the left)
  2. Unzip the file to the directory of your choice
  3. That’s it, you’re done
  4.  On first start, the application may not find certain files. Don’t worry, they will be made automatically.
  5. You are now ready to specify which programs you want to launch with MultiStart.

Some hints:

  1. I prefer to start programs from the desktop. To make a short cut on your desktop, right click on the file “MultiStart.jar”, and select “Send To...Desktop”. You may then drag this short cut – if you prefer – to your start menu or to the “Quick Launch” area of your task bar (in the lower left of your desktop) or both.
  2. Choose how the application should behave and remember to save these choices. Feel free to experiment, they can be changed and saved at any time.
  3. In the top frame (actually called a panel) you place those programs that you will be able to start with one click. In the bottom you can place programs that you start often, and would like to have handy.
  4. You should add the short cut to the folder “Startup” in the “All programs” part of the “Start menu”. This will launch MultiStart automatically when you star or restart your machine.
